Glasdon UK | Nexus® Evolution | Recycling is Evolving from Glasdon UK Limited.

Can you recycle this?

Glasdon is a leading manufacturer and supplier of environmental and safety products, providing solutions for waste management and waste reduction, on-the-go recycling, risk management, smoking control and cycle storage. The core aim of their business is to provide quality products which improve public spaces, enhance water and road safety and to protect the environment. With products such as litter bins, recycling containers, outdoor public seating and traffic bollards, they ensure that wherever possible they design products using recycled and recyclable materials. In fact, the vast majority of their products are manufactured and assembled in the United Kingdom which helps ensure their carbon footprint is kept to a minimum.

But first, coffee

In a bid to help remove the confusion around takeaway cup recycling and increase the volume of disposable cups being recycled, Glasdon has compiled a new eBook which sheds light on the ‘What, Why and How To’ of on-the-go cup recycling. Structured in three parts with links inside the book to help readers navigate and skip around, Glasdon provides answers to some of the big cup recycling questions with an easily digestible overview. Available for free on the Glasdon website, the eBook includes a practical step by step guide for businesses on how to introduce a cup recycling programme in the workplace.

Working hard

Glasdon is passionate about the environment and committed to continuously improving its environmental performance. In fact, they are even accredited under ISO 14001, the internationally recognised Environmental Management System. They also have a variety of schemes in place at their offices to further reduce their carbon footprint, from encouraging employees to take part in video or telephone conferencing rather than visiting suppliers, as well as offering a cycle2work scheme, where employees can receive a discount on bicycles which will be used to cycle to work. In the office, they continue to reduce paper waste by emphasising the use of email rather than postal communication and encourage employees to reduce, reuse and recycle – with the use of their very own recycling stations.

This story shows how Glasdon supports Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, specifically Target 12.5: “By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.”
