NYC Event Pro is supporting Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
NYC Event Pro is a special event and brand management collective, offering clients full event and venue consulting from start to finish. NYC Event Pro recognises that large-scale events can leave behind a trail of excessive waste, so their aim is to integrate local and seasonal ingredients, as well as use recyclable or biodegradable cutlery and disposables at all of their events.
A lot goes into producing special events, and so much can come out of it too. Reducing waste through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse is a large problem in the events industry, from waste generated through the production of the event to the carbon footprint created by materials. NYC Event Pro is trying to reduce waste in all aspects of their business, including sourcing materials created locally, working with local vendors, employing local talent, and using reusable or biodegradable disposals.
There are many benefits of organic farming, from protecting the health of the soil to saving scarce water resources. NYC Event Pro strives to source the products they vend from farmers using organic methods. They also ensure that the ingredients they use have independent third-party certification as an insurance that organic methods are being followed, and aim to verify all organic claims before using a product at an event. In fact, they are also committed to ensuring these organic products do not go to waste after an event, often donating leftover materials.
NYC Event Pro plan to redesign their operations even further to eliminate waste, with the hope that all event materials will become the raw material for new products and uses. Part of their strategy is implementing a zero-waste approach to event disposables and product packaging. This means reducing the amount of product packaging and event disposables they use, as well as sourcing reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable materials. They are also committed to collaborating with their suppliers to find creative solutions to eliminate unsustainable event waste throughout the industry.
NYC Event Pro is proud to be women and minority-owned and operated, committed to supporting like-minded suppliers, vendors and other industry professionals. In fact, all their policies have been created to achieve greater equality amongst their staff, vendors, and collaborators. They also ensure that they hire and support vendors from a wide range of backgrounds, with over 50% of the businesses they collaborate with being women-owned.
